BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) – It's been a strange 24 hours in the city of Boca Raton, at least when it comes to vertical objects. We begin with an early morning accident involving a woman, a car and a tree. BocaNewsNow.com has learned that a young woman suffered significant injuries when she apparently drove into a tree in the 5100 block of North Federal Highway around 5:45 a.m. Friday morning.

According to sources familiar with the incident, the Boca Raton Fire Department responded to the scene and found a woman conscious but injured after she apparently lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the tree. She was taken to an area hospital for treatment. Although it is unclear why she hit the tree, the tree is not believed to be responsible.

The tree incident followed a somewhat significant traffic accident late Thursday afternoon when a pole fell on NE 2nd Avenue. Boca Raton police reported the fallen pole was located between North Federal and North Dixie. Traffic in the area was diverted for several hours.

The City of Boca Raton then sent out this alert around 10 p.m.: “NB & SB Dixie open, turn lanes closed, WB over tracks NW 2nd St NE 2nd St closed at Federal Hwy WB EB NW 2nd St closed at 1st Ave Detour Palmetto Park or Glades .” .”

It's been a difficult few weeks for the city of Boca Raton, with multiple murders, a mall shutdown following a bomb threat that still hasn't resulted in an arrest, a sharp-handed robbery, a carjacking and now the vertical and traditional violation immovable objects are big problems. Be careful out there.
