Pittsburg Police Participate in National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day – Newstalk KZRG

Tomorrow, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Pittsburg Police Department will serve as the host site for the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration's National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day.

The DEA, along with its other law enforcement partners, will collect tablets, capsules, patches and other solid forms of prescription medications.

For more than a decade, the event has helped citizens easily rid their homes of unnecessary medications—old, unwanted, or expired—that all too often fall into the wrong hands and become a gateway to addiction. Since its inception, Take Back Day has removed more than 9,285 tonnes of medication from circulation.

The Pittsburg Police Department is proud to provide the community with the opportunity to dispose of medications responsibly. Anyone wishing to dispose of unwanted prescription medications is asked to bring them to the Pittsburg Police Department located at 201 N. Pine St., Pittsburg, Kansas on Saturday, October 26, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m bring

This service is free and individuals can remain anonymous. For more information about this service or other hosting sites, please visit the US Drug Enforcement Administration website at DEATakeBack.com.

Please keep sharps, needles, injectors, and aerosol containers (inhalers) separate from other prescription medications. Due to their nature, these items must be disposed of separately.
