Prospective man sent for evaluation after stabbing

Future resident is charged with assault

On October 21, 2024, police arrested Venton Roberts, a 28-year-old laborer from Prospect, and charged him with felony assault.

The investigation revealed that the defendant unlawfully and maliciously injured a 42-year-old carpenter of the same address by stabbing him in the body with a knife.

The offense was committed on October 20, 2024 in Prospect.

Roberts appeared in Calliaqua Magistrate Court on October 22, 2024. He was not allowed to enter a plea and was sent to the Mental Health Rehabilitation Center for a two-week evaluation. The matter was adjourned to November 4, 2024.
