CINCINNATI (WXIX) — A second person has been charged in connection with an August 2024 murder in Bond Hill.

Jahontae Mills, 19, was arraigned Thursday on multiple charges, including aggravated murder, murder, aggravated assault and aggravated robbery, court documents said.

On August 27, 20-year-old Javione Bradford and Mills allegedly attempted to rob 26-year-old Aaron Myles.

The attempted robbery led to a shooting, and Cincinnati police and EMS were dispatched to the 1700 block of Garden Lane around 6:40 p.m

When they arrived, they found Myles in his vehicle with gunshot wounds. He was taken to University of Cincinnati Medical Center but was later pronounced dead.

Cincinnati police arrested Bradford for murder and took Mills in for questioning on October 17.

According to the affidavit, Mills told Cincinnati police detectives: “I sold the phone that was used to organize the robbery that resulted in the death of Aaron Myles to Baby Crow.”

Mills was originally charged with tampering with evidence, but this was ignored after police discovered it was a false statement.

It is believed he lied to police to “avoid discovery” of his involvement in the murder, the affidavit said. He faces an additional charge of failure to obey police officers.

Mills and Bradford are currently behind bars at the Hamilton County Justice Center. Mills' bond was set at $51,000 with a 10% interest rate, while Bradford's bond was set at $3.5 million.
