Man arrested after hitting and killing flagger at work

LINCOLN COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) – A man has been arrested after a tree company flagger was struck and killed while working.

Jimmy Wilburn faces multiple charges, including involuntary manslaughter.

According to the criminal complaint, an investigation revealed that Wilburn's driver's license was revoked due to multiple unpaid citations. The vehicle in the incident did not have a West Virginia inspection sticker and was equipped with defective equipment. Wilburn also failed to provide proof of insurance for the vehicle.

The victim of the incident, Venancio Santos, died from his injuries after being taken to the hospital.
