Simone Biles defends husband Jonathan Owens against backlash over viral “catch” comments

“I know we signed up to be judged at the gym, but if you guys talk about him or my family, I'm going to come at you,” she continued. “Most of the time I bite my tongue, but now I have a voice, I've always had a voice. Despite all the criticism over the past year, the happy couple has proven that they are above the negativity. On Instagram, Owens wrote: “Unaffected. All I know is that we're locked in here.” Meanwhile, Biles claimed she and Owens were together for “a lifetime.”

“I turned off all my social media notifications, so I didn’t even know for a while,” Owens told the outlet.

“I was actually with my mom and Simone whenever it came out, so I just let them read all the comments and everything. I try to stay out of it, and of course when you feel like things are getting out of control, you take action and say something.

“I don't want to curse, but damned if you do, damned if you don't,” he continued to tell the outlet. “If you say something, they will say something; If you don't say anything, they will say something.

“So, just live your life. People are going to talk about you anyway, so you might as well do it however you want,” he added.
