Man found dead in Leesburg motel, suspect charged with murder

LEESBURG, Ga. (WALB) – One man is dead and another is charged with murder following a murder investigation in Leesburg.

On Thursday, October 24, the Lee County Sheriff's Office was called to the Fairfax Motel where they found 51-year-old Benjamin Musselwhite of Cordele dead, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI).

GBI agents identified 27-year-old Collier King of Leesburg as the suspect and charged him with:

  • Serious bodily harm
  • felony murder
  • Malicious murder
  • Possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime

He is currently in the Lee County Jail.
