VINCENT – An incident at Warren High School this week led to a former student being charged with assault.

The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday and involved a male juvenile who lived a short distance from the school and came onto the school grounds during football practice, according to Maj. Brian Rhodes of the Washington County Sheriff's Office.

“He was there and started yelling at some of the coaches and disrupting practice.” Rhodes said.

He said the male youth punched a trainer in the face and some other trainers restrained him and then released him after he calmed down.

“He continued to beat a few coaches (back then).” Rhodes said.

According to Rhodes, the child is not currently a student at Warren High School as he was expelled from school due to a previous incident.

He did not provide further details about the expulsion.

The incident with the teenager was an isolated incident, Rhodes said.

“There is no danger to the schools” he said.

Rhodes said three assault charges against the teen have been forwarded to the Washington County District Attorney's Office.
