Mario & Luigi: Brothership Leaked Online Two Weeks Before Release | GBAtemp.net

It's amazing how seven years have passed and Nintendo still hasn't figured out how to stop the leaks

Sure, it's entirely Nintendo's fault that someone with access to early stock steals a copy, throws it away, and posts it online. The purpose of staging inventory before shipping is to ensure it is ready for release. For this to work, you need to ensure that multiple services and locations have access to it on the first day of release. The problem is the people who work in these places have the wrong idea(s), make copies and throw them away. In theory, Nintendo could use a few methods to block these games from working until the release date, but that assumes the homebrew community doesn't try to circumvent the measures in the first place, not to mention that there might not be any controversy over the change Dealing with physical media (Xbox One online only, anyone?). People just don't care anymore whether they should do such things or not, even if they are the stupid ones, because they could potentially jeopardize their position, if not their entire tenure, if they do such stupid things.
