Oshkosh drug bust makes history for city police

OSHKOSH, Wis. – Two drug raids in a single day represent the largest seizure of drugs and cash for Oshkosh City Police.

The incidents began with drug complaints and an investigation that led to the Oshkosh Police Department's Vice and Narcotics Unit searching an apartment near Lombard and Westfield on the morning of Oct. 24. SWAT teams assisted in executing the search warrant, which resulted in the seizure of approximately 30 grams of cocaine, 50 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and over $3,000 in federal dollars.

Later that day, law enforcement officers searched a home near Mt. Vernon Street and E. Melvin and recovered over $330,000, approximately 7.5 pounds of raw marijuana/THC, over 1,000 THC cartridges and approximately one kilogram of cocaine, as well as three Vehicles suspected of being used for the sale and distribution of illegal drugs are safe.

“Investigators are currently investigating multiple bank accounts believed to contain hundreds of thousands of dollars believed to be related to the sale and distribution of illegal drugs,” Oshkosh police said.

Police arrested a 51-year-old drug paraphernalia man from Oshkosh, maintaining a drug dwelling and possession with intent to deliver cocaine and marijuana. Formal charges are pending. According to law enforcement, the suspects in this case may be responsible for distributing 62 kilos of cocaine in the Fox Valley.
