Colts vs. Texans Week 8 live updates and highlights

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson (5) speaks to the team during a game against the Houston Texans at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on Sunday, September 8, 2024.

The Indianapolis Colts face the Houston Texans on Sunday afternoon in a game that has huge implications for the AFC Divisional race.

Yes, it's only Week 8 and there are nine games left after this game, but a Colts loss today would put them in a big hole when it comes to catching the Texans in the division race.

In addition to the Texans improving to 6-2 with a win and the Colts falling to 4-4, Houston would also win the season series and be 3-0 in the AFC South while the Colts would be 1-3. When it comes to potential tiebreakers, the Texans would have a big advantage.

However, if the Colts can win, they and Houston, on the other hand, are tied on the season overall, have split the season series, and Indianapolis would be 2-2 in the division compared to the Texans, who would be 2-2. 1 in the AFC South with a loss today.
