Beal and Allen are out for the Suns' home opener against the Mavs, with Ryan Dunn starting

play

Bradley Beal (right elbow soreness) and Grayson Allen (personal reasons) are out of Saturday's home opener against the Dallas Mavericks at Footprint Center.

Rookie Ryan Dunn will make his first career start in place of Beal. With Dunn in the starting lineup, Phoenix has a larger lineup as the rookie is 6-8 versus Beal is 6-3.

Suns coach Mike Budenholzer said Beal got caught in a screen late in Friday's 123-116 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Beal played Friday after being listed as a probable player with right shoulder soreness. He scored 15 points, shot 3 of 6 from 3 and had a game-high nine assists.

Allen was listed as a probable player for the Lakers game with right Achilles tendon pain. He was with the team for the morning shootaround at UCLA but missed the game and returned to Phoenix to be with his wife, who is pregnant.

Josh Okogie (right hamstring pain) is out on Saturday. He hasn't played yet this season.

The Suns (1-1) are playing their third game in four days. The Mavs are 1-0 after defeating San Antonio 120-109 at home in their season opener on Thursday.
