Utah Jazz Trade Rumors: The Lakers remain interested in Walker Kessler

The Utah Jazz have begun the way they should have it the season in an unexciting way. With an 0-2 record, it seems like they are interested in selling players that other teams are interested in. Walker Kessler, a young prospect with more value than a loaned veteran, is once again being linked to the Los Angeles Lakers.

In Jovan Buha's latest livestream, he said this about the Lakers' interest:

“I think we need more time to see what people become available. I think that Walker Kessler is a name that the Lakers have been interested in that would make a lot of sense and would allow you to either start a two-big look or, probably more realistically, start him off the bench get and then play two-big shifts and then finish with two bigs in certain matchups. Jerami Grant, Bruce Brown, Dorian Finney-Smith, Cam Johnson, the guys they’ve pursued or been interested in in the past.”

We've seen this interest reported several times before, and we've also seen reports revealing Kessler's potential cost for two first-round picks. Would the Lakers be interested in such a move? Kessler would bring additional rim protection and could play alongside Anthony Davis, making the Laker frontcourt a defensive force. Kessler could also give the start or come off the bench when necessary.

Given the Lakers' hot start and JJ Redick's impressive coaching performance, they may be interested in capitalizing on their final years with LeBron James. In any case, Utah has a prospect in Walker Kessler that multiple teams are interested in. If Utah feels like he's part of the future, they should just keep him. But considering we're seeing multiple rumors from multiple teams, Utah is getting calls. Apparently they are listening too. As the season progresses we'll see if anything happens.
