Suns rookie Ryan Dunn blocks LeBron James in win over Lakers

Phoenix Suns rookie Ryan Dunn was a nuisance for Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James during Monday's 109-105 win at Footprint Center.

Dunn, who said James was a childhood hero, chased the future Hall of Famer through screens to contest shots and blocked him at the rim in the evenings while playing help on defense. It's a moment the newbie probably won't forget.

On another play, Dunn fought through a screen and put a James spin into traffic, causing James to lose the ball and forcing a 24-second violation.

James was able to keep his lead to 11 points with 3:14 goals in the loss. He was minus-17 from the field after dropping 32 points in his last game on Saturday.

Dunn played 15 minutes off the bench in his fourth career NBA game and was an immediate impact with seven points, one rebound, one steal and one blocked shot. He's already risen to the challenge against some of the game's best players, having faced Luka Doncic and the Mavericks over the weekend.

He and Royce O'Neale played key defensive players from the bench.

Two of Dunn's points came in transition on a smooth Euro step to the cup reverse layup that had Kevin Durant on the bench mimicking the move.

Suns complete comeback against Lakers

The Suns had to overcome an 18-point first quarter deficit to win on Monday, handing Los Angeles its first loss. Both teams are 3-1.

Devin Booker scored 33 points while Durant added 30 points. The bench unit of Dunn, O'Neale and Mason Plumlee stepped up on both ends, including the boards, while the Suns stayed behind to aid the comeback.

The Suns also blocked 11 shots and stole the ball seven times on Monday. Durant blocked four shots while O'Neale added another pair.

Anthony Davis led Los Angeles with 29 points.

James intentionally missed his second free throw in the final seconds while trailing by two points, but the Suns came away with the ball and finished the job.
