Kyler Murray deflects Anthony Davis' pass during the Suns game

So much for protecting Kyler Murray's blind side.

Arizona Cardinals quarterback and left tackle Paris Johnson Jr. sat courtside at Monday's game between the Phoenix Suns and Los Angeles Lakers, perhaps even closer to the action than expected.

Lakers star Anthony Davis delivered a sharp pass to LeBron James, who had already started making the cut. With no one there to secure the basketball, the ball was shot directly at Murray, who had to raise a hand to block it.

The blue tent wasn't necessary as Murray quickly laughed it off. However, Johnson couldn't escape some teasing from fans online who expected the left tackle to step in front of danger off the field like he does on the field.

Murray is as athletic as quarterbacks get and is a first-round pick in both football and baseball. Maybe he could have made a difference with a better pass on a catch-and-shoot attempt.
