Tuesday's tennis betting tips and predictions: Surprises in Paris

In today's tennis betting tips we will introduce you to two interesting matches from the ATP Masters in Paris. It's the last big event of the year for most players, so there's plenty of potential for surprises as they look towards the end of the season. Some will be looking to finish strong and we're backing those players to pull off a few potential upsets this Tuesday.

The best tennis tips and predictions today

The first game we have chosen is an interesting duel between Frances Tiafoe and Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard. We're aiming for an upset here as the French player is at home and has been on a great run of late.

In the other game, we're backing Jordan Thompson to upset Casper Ruud, who hasn't been playing particularly well lately and has had some problems against Thompson in the past. It makes a lot of sense to support the Australian.

Mpetshi Perricard defeated Tiafoe @ 7/5

Mpetshi Perricard just won the event in Basel and almost broke into the top 30. He's playing the best tennis of his career, and more generally, he's just a menace indoors.

He is exceptionally tall, has a powerful serve that can deliver around 20 aces per game, and plays effectively behind it.

Although he is not the most agile player, he has a strong forehand that he hits over the net with relative ease. His opponent Tiafoe is not the most serious competitor at times and can lose games if he doesn't stay focused.

This match just reads like one where Tiafoe can push himself to a tiebreaker or two, but then loses focus in the crucial moments. Playing against a strong server like Mpetshi Perricard will likely give Tiafoe plenty of time to get distracted as he won't have many opportunities to return.

However, there is a chance that Tiafoe can find motivation and deliver an outstanding performance, but it's always a gamble.

We think the French player will enjoy playing at home in front of friends and family and with the confidence he has recently gained he should be able to do it.

Thompson beats Ruud at 1/1

This pick mostly comes down to the matchup, which has proven to be quite difficult for Ruud. Thompson is a very solid player, and more importantly, he's going up against some of the best players.

He may lose against weaker players, but when it matters most, he delivers his best tennis. His best level is well suited to indoor courts as he has a versatile skill set. His approach to the net is common for him and his serve is also pretty solid.

He's been pretty consistent this year too. Ruud, on the other hand, was a bit of a mess and generally hasn't reached his best yet. His current form has been shaky and he has never been at his best indoors.

The 3:4 deficit against Thompson in the direct duel is just the icing on the cake. Ruud has never beaten Thompson on hard courts and has lost the last two games by a wide margin, including one recently in Tokyo.

Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, oi oi oi! Take him with you to win the match.
