Tucson's short heat break ends this week

Tucson's weekend break from the heat is over.

High temperatures in the Tucson metropolitan area will be 10 to 15 degrees above normal Tuesday through Sunday, the National Weather Service says in its weekly forecast here.

High temperatures this week will be in the mid to upper 90s.

This means that almost record-breaking high temperatures are possible, especially from Wednesday to Friday. High temperatures over the weekend should be in the lower to mid 90s.

Expected high temperatures in Tucson are 98 degrees on Wednesday, 96 degrees on Thursday and 98 degrees on Friday, the weather service said.

High temperatures of around 88 degrees are expected on Monday.
