McGuire told reporters he didn't know what was written under Burkhardt's shirt until after the game.

“We have dealt with it. We will continue to look into this. We’ll take care of it internally,” he said, via the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal. “You know, it's always one thing, whenever you're dealing with young adults, the really young adults, I think, the decisions that we make and when we make them and when you share them.

“I always think that the best thing about football, basketball and sports like that is that it's a team sport. You always want to make sure you put your team in the best situation. And there are places where you express your opinion and, you know, I don't think that's necessarily a time or a place.

“As far as he’s concerned, we’ll take care of it. We took care of it on Saturday and continued to discuss everything, find the best solution and keep it in-house.”

McGuire didn't want to reveal who he voted for, according to the medium, but he encouraged others to vote.

Burkhardt's MAGA message was the latest example of pro-Trump support in sports over the weekend.
