Taylor Perkins of Riverton convicted of murdering Michael Jefferies

A Riverton man has received a 20-year prison sentence for fatally stabbing a man at a Mount Laurel hotel.

Taylor Perkins, 30, was accused of killing 36-year-old Michael Jefferies of Mount Laurel during an April 2023 fight at the Rodeway Inn on Route 73, the Burlington County District Attorney's Office said. A jury found him guilty of manslaughter in September.

Perkins was also convicted of larceny and larceny.

Prosecutors said he fled the scene in an SUV stolen from a nearby BMW dealership and then in an Xfinity employee's truck. He was arrested in Camden.

Perkins was sentenced earlier this month in the Mount Holly courtroom by Superior Court Judge Richard J. Nocella.
