JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man charged in a hit-and-run crash in Jacksonville earlier this month that killed a 15-year-old on Interstate 95 has been arrested in Central Florida.

He was arrested in the Orlando area by FHP investigators and is now facing multiple felony and felony charges.

“FHP is committed to removing these dangerous drivers from our roads and holding criminals accountable for their actions,” FHP said in a social media post.

According to the accident report, the 15-year-old was driving a black Toyota Tacoma north on I-95 with a 16-year-old passenger next to him around 9 p.m

FHP said the truck was then struck from behind by a white Honda Civic, causing the Tacoma to roll over and injuring the 15-year-old, who later succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.

Neither the teen was wearing a seatbelt nor was the vehicle's occupant injured, FHP said.
