SWAT at the scene of an armed person at the Four Seasons Hotel, several streets closed in Midtown

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – Atlanta Police responded to an armed person at the Four Seasons Hotel in Midtown.

Police said they responded to a call about an “insane person.” They did not say who the person at the center of the call was or what led to the call to respond to the hotel. A SWAT team also responded to the scene.

“Out of an abundance of caution, units have established a security perimeter to safely investigate the matter,” a police statement said.

Police said 14 St NE at W Peachtree St NE and Crescent Ave NE, 13th St NE at W Peachtree St NE and Crescent Ave NE, and Peachtree Walk remain closed.

The Midtown Neighbors Association said on Instagram that there was a heavy police presence on the residential side of the building. It's not clear how, if at all, the hotel's guests will be affected.
