AMD beats third-quarter sales, but fourth-quarter guidance falls short

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) stock reverses course in after-hours trading, giving up daily gains after reporting third-quarter earnings results. The chip giant reported a revenue increase of $6.8 billion (up from estimates of $6.71 billion), while profit met expectations for adjusted earnings of $0.92 per share.
