Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson fight: date, odds, undercard, rules, start time, location, rumors, complete guide

Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson is well and truly happening. Netflix is jumping into the fighting game for the first time to host the bizarre boxing crossover.

Paul, 27, and Tyson, 57, will take part in an exhibition boxing match on November 15 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The fight will be streamed worldwide on Netflix but does not come with a PPV price tag. Tyson's legend and vast experience make him a humble underdog. What Paul lacks in longevity, he should make up for with youth, commitment and a qualified team behind him.

The fight was originally scheduled to take place on July 20, but Tyson suffered a medical issue related to an ulcer that forced a postponement.

The fight will also be an officially sanctioned bout by the Texas Commission. The fight will last eight rounds of two minutes each with slightly larger gloves than normal.

Paul (9-1, 6 KOs) is all in on boxing. The YouTuber started boxing other social media stars before moving up to UFC fighters and champions testing the sweet science. Paul recently took a detour from defeating older, smaller MMA fighters like Anderson Silva and Nate Diaz and went the more traditional development route. In the lead-up to the Tyson announcement, Paul scored consecutive knockout victories against club-level boxers.

“Write history. That's what I'm all about, man. I’m a kid from Ohio.” […] They will never give me credit. “That’s how it is,” Paul said at a news conference in August. “If I walked on water, they would say it was because I couldn’t swim.” And that’s supposed to make history. People think I'm blown away by this strong, powerful guy. All the people in my comments say, 'Look at his power.' He's going to get knocked out.' […] This took the chance to fight someone as evil as Mike. You have to risk it for the cookie. That's the name of the game. I'm here to make history. I’m here for a challenge.”

Tyson (50-6-2 NC, 44 KOs) has not boxed publicly since his 2020 appearance against fellow legendary Roy Jones Jr. ended in a draw. It's often said that power is the last thing to go, and “Iron” Mike will need it against an opponent 30 years his junior. The former undisputed world heavyweight boxing champion is an all-time star with victories over Larry Holmes and Michael Spinks.

The undercard will feature a fantastic rematch as Katie Taylor puts her undisputed super lightweight title on the line against Amanda Serrano. The two women were the first headliners at an event at Madison Square Garden in April 2022, where Taylor made a split decision to retain her undisputed lightweight titles. Now the two meet in the same weight class after Taylor defeated Chantelle Cameron by majority decision to win the title in November.

Two more world title fights are scheduled for the event. Mario Barrios will defend for the first time the WBC welterweight title, which he acquired after being upgraded by the sanctioning body following Terrence Crawford's weight move. Barrios meets Abel Ramos. Shadasia Green and Melinda Watpool will also meet for the vacant WBO super middleweight championship.

There are plenty of decent fights on the card, turning what would otherwise be a circus sideshow into a respectable boxing card, even with a bizarre main event.
