Milan 0-2 Naples: Antonio Conte's team punishes wasteful Milan and is seven points clear at the top

Napoli moved seven points clear at the top of Serie A with a clear 2-0 win at AC Milan.

Former Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku made an immediate impact on his return to the San Siro, opening the scoring after five minutes when he beat Strahinja Pavlovic in the penalty area and then fired into the bottom corner.

Despite a response from Milan that tested Napoli goalkeeper Alex Meret a few times, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia doubled the visitors' lead minutes before half-time.

The Georgia international launched one of his trademark mazy runs down the left wing, overtaking several defenders before unleashing a curling attack that went over the hands of Mike Maignan.

Immediately after the restart it seemed as if the hosts had halved the deficit through Alvaro Morata, but his header was canceled for a minor offside.

The win gives Antonio Conte's side 25 points, seven points ahead of Inter Milan in second place.

After a third defeat of the season, AC Milan are in eighth place, 11 points behind.
