The Minnesota Vikings have signed a new left tackle following Christian Darrisaw's season-ending injury.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero, the Vikings acquired Cam Robinson from the Jacksonville Jaguars in exchange for draft pick compensation.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that the Vikings also received a conditional 2026 seventh-round pick, which could disappear depending on playing time, while the Jaguars received a conditional 2026 fifth-round pick, which could become a conditional 2026 fifth-round pick depending on Robinson's playing time Can be a fourth round pick.

Darrisaw was one of the best tackles in the league this year with a PFF grade of 81.4, ranking 10th among tackles. He suffered a torn ACL and ACL last week against the Los Angeles Rams.

While Robinson may not be on the same level as Darrisaw, the Vikings needed a proven starter for the rest of the season, and they got that in Robinson.

The former second-round pick out of Alabama has 91 starts under his belt and stands 6-foot-5 and 335 pounds, more than enough size to help Minnesota's offensive line protect Sam Darnold under center.

Before the Jaguars' game with the Green Bay Packers this week, Jacksonville elected to sub Robinson in favor of Walker Little, even though Robinson had cleared concussion protocols. It was the first time he was healthy on the bench during his time with the team.

Rapoport noted that it's somewhat rare for the left tackle to make a move halfway through the season, but after a 2-6 start to the season, the Jaguars are looking to grab some future strength as their playoff hopes are clear at this point have disappeared.

Robinson is in the third year of his three-year, $54 million contract and will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason. His base salary for the 2024 season is $16.250 million, and ESPN's Field Yates reported that Jacksonville “may have had to eat up some of that” to get the deal done.

With the signing of Robinson, the Vikings will look to continue their strong start to the season. Minnesota entered its Week 6 bye undefeated, but has since lost two straight games to the Detroit Lions and Rams. The Vikings have a chance to get back on track this week against the Indianapolis Colts.
