Arlington Heights crash: Harley Davidson motorcyclist killed on Northwest Highway near Waterman; Teen cited, police say

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (WLS) – A motorcyclist was killed in a three-vehicle crash in a northern suburb on Tuesday evening.

The crash happened around 6:30 p.m. on Northwest Highway near Waterman in Arlington Heights, police said.

A silver 2020 Hyundai Elantra and a red 2017 Harley Davidson were traveling west on Northwest Highway.

As they approached Waterman, an eastbound blue 2010 Genesis coupe turned left and struck the Hyundai and motorcycle.

Despite the efforts of first responders, the motorcyclist died at the scene of the accident.

A 16-year-old was driving the blue Genesis. The teenager was charged with failing to yield the right of way when turning left and failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

The unidentified teenager is due in court on November 21.

No other injuries were reported.
