According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, the Laredo drug dealer was sentenced to 30 years in prison

LAREDO, Texas (KGNS) – A Laredo drug dealer has been sentenced to 30 years in prison, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

Daniel Rodriguez, 46, was convicted of Possession of Meth with Intent to Distribute Meth.

The case began on Wednesday, January 3, when authorities executed a search warrant at Rodriguez's home.

According to prosecutors, Rodriguez left his home and attempted to throw away a bag that was later found to contain meth.

In announcing the sentence, the court explained that Rodriguez continued to sell drugs despite having several opportunities to stop.

Rodriguez will remain in custody pending transfer to a federal prison, which will be determined later.
