Ishpeming man accused of stealing phone and construction site tools

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) – An Ishpeming man was arrested for stealing a cell phone and tools from a construction site.

James Fisk, 29, was arrested Oct. 25 as a probation violation and booked into the Marquette County Jail. An arrest warrant was issued Oct. 29 on four counts: theft of a building (a felony), two counts of receiving and concealing stolen property valued at $200 to $1,000 (a misdemeanor), and theft of $200 to $1,000. dollars (a misdemeanor).

The investigation leading to Fisk's arrest began on October 14 when the Marquette Police Department (MPD) responded to a complaint involving a stolen cell phone. The theft occurred in the 300 block of Pine Street in the City of Marquette. Investigators identified a possible location of the missing phone at a residence in the town of Ishpeming.

MPD detectives, assisted by officers from the Ishpeming Police Department, executed a search warrant on October 25 at a residence in the 600 block of E Street in Ishpeming. The stolen cell phone was found in the apartment.

During the search, investigators also found tools matching the description of items stolen from a construction site in the 400 block of E. Ridge Street in the City of Marquette the weekend of October 11th. An additional search warrant was obtained to specifically search for the stolen tools. Several stolen items were recovered.

Fisk was granted bail totaling $11,000.00 cash/surety on all four charges.
