A UI 7 leak reveals new Samsung features in Android 15

Likely ahead of a beta announcement, a new One UI 7 leak has revealed some of the features Samsung will be rolling out to Galaxy devices alongside Android 15.

We've already learned a lot about what's new in Samsung's One UI 7 update, such as: B. shared notifications and quick settings, redesigned icons and much more, but a new leak from Android Headlines reveals some more features of the update.

According to this latest report, Samsung plans to introduce a handful of new features, starting with Circle to Search's previously announced ability to help with homework. This functionality has yet to be rolled out, but Samsung apparently plans to integrate it into One UI 7. Likewise, Samsung's own parental control tools get a boost in this update, including the ability to track the location of the child's device and for children to send a request to purchase a specific app.

Of course, there are also other AI functions.

One UI 7 will apparently use AI to add depth to images through “live effects” and add new styles to “Sketch to Image,” a feature introduced on the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 in One UI 6.1.1 became. The “Energy Score” feature, which works on a Galaxy smartphone and a Galaxy Watch, also appears to be expanded in One UI 7.

Compared to other leaks, this latest leak doesn't reveal much in terms of tangible or exciting changes, but that could help temper expectations as to when the update finally arrives. From the looks of it, One UI 7 seems to be much more focused on delivering a visual overhaul than new features.

This is also shown in this latest report, which takes a clear look at Samsung's new app icons from the update.

The same video, seen below, also shows the new lock screen with a visible ongoing activity chip, similar to Apple's Live Activity and Google's work with “ongoing notifications” for Android 16. Another leaked video recently featured updates of the lock screen, but did not introduce this new functionality. The same video also revealed that shared notifications and quick settings, also seen in Samsung's clip below, will be optional.
