Jenna Dewan's fiancé denies making fun of Channing Tatum and Zoë Kravitz's split in a viral post

A case of bad timing.

Jenna Dewan's fiancé Steve Kazee denied throwing shade at her ex Channing Tatum's split from Zoë Kravitz after his bizarre Instagram story went viral.

Shortly after the news broke on Tuesday, Kazee posted the word “HAHA” written dozens of times on a black screen – which he now claims was a meme not the couple's separation.

Notably, Kazee, 49, re-posted a TikTok about failing to water houseplants right after uploading the laughing slide.

The funny video in which he tagged Dewan showed a dying plant with the caption: “The houseplant in my kitchen was watching me pour water into the coffee maker…”

Amid the backlash over the laugh slide, the Tony winner took to his Instagram Story to clear the air.

“A man can't laugh at a houseplant on TikTok in today's world I see…” he wrote over a black screen on Wednesday.

“See? “It's funny because it's relatable,” he captioned a follow-up story introducing some of his thirsty plants. “Get a life.”

“The worst part,” he wrote about the final slide, which ironically shows a dying plant placed right next to his water filter.

Kazee's statement matches what his representatives told Page Six on Tuesday. They insisted the Broadway star was simply making fun of people who struggle to remember to water their plants – something he is “notorious for at home”.

The eyebrow-raising post was shared just hours after People and TMZ confirmed that Tatum, 44, and Kravitz, 35, had called it quits after three years together.

The reason for their separation has not been revealed.

Although it's unclear exactly when the couple broke up, they still seem to be on good terms, as they're both set to star in the Zellner brothers' new sci-fi comedy Alpha Gang.

The exes met while working together on Kravtiz's directorial debut, which came out in August.

The “She's The Man” star popped the question in October 2023 with a massive 7-carat diamond ring.

However, the two remained coy when asked about their wedding plans, as Tatum was involved in a contentious divorce for almost the entire duration of their relationship.

Despite splitting in 2018, Tatum and Dewan have been in a years-long battle over the actor's Magic Mike winnings.

They didn't finalize their split until September 2024 – a month before news of his latest breakup broke.

Tatum and the “Rookie” star share an 11-year-old daughter, Everly.

Meanwhile, Dewan got engaged to Kazee in 2020. They are parents to sons Callum (4) and Rhiannon (4 months).
