The sheriff's office reportedly began investigating last week after the Department of Children and Family Services gave them a tip that a juvenile may have been sexually abused.

Through their investigation, investigators said they discovered that Elzie took the victim to an abandoned location in Kentwood and committed the crime.

Elzie was taken into custody in Pike County, Mississippi on Thursday, October 24th and was later transported to the Tangipahoa Parish Jail.

Victims of violence can report crimes to TPSO at 985-902-2008 or call 911 in an emergency.
