Couple arrested on drug and weapons charges after raid in Marion County

MARION COUNTY, Miss. (WDAM) – Two people are in the Marion County Jail on multiple drug and weapons charges following a raid Wednesday in Columbia.

The Marion County Sheriff's Office said that after completing a drug investigation, deputies and Columbia Police Department officers served a warrant at 15 Williamsburg Road in Columbia.

According to MCSO, methamphetamine, liquid methamphetamine, marijuana, prescription drugs, firearms, scales, drug packaging materials and various drug paraphernalia were found during the raid.

Amy Nicole Carroll, 38, and Covey Allen Blansett, 35, both of Columbia, were arrested and face multiple charges, MCSO said.

Carroll was charged with:

  • human trafficking (armed)
  • Possession of methamphetamine while possessing a firearm
  • Endangerment of children through criminal acts
  • Two counts of misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance.

Blansett was charged with:

  • human trafficking (armed)
  • Possession of methamphetamine while possessing a firearm
  • Endangerment of children through criminal acts
  • Two counts of misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance
  • Four counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
  • Possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute
  • Sale/Transfer of a Controlled Substance
  • Mississippi Department of Corrections warrant
  • Two warrants for contempt of court
  • Arrest warrant for failure to appear.
