Central New York daycare worker arrested and accused of physically abusing toddler

SALINA, N.Y. — A 19-year-old daycare worker in Salina was arrested Friday after reports of abuse and neglect, officials said.

Kaylen Chartier, of Salina, was arrested Friday and accused of molesting a child at Shining Stars Day Care, according to Tom Newton, a spokesman for the Onondaga Sheriff's Office.

Officers were called to the day care center at 120 Metropolitan Park Dr. Thursday morning. called because there were reports that a child under the age of two was being abused and neglected, he said.
