Viagra kick? Coffee laced with erectile dysfunction drug triggers warning in Hong Kong

Hong Kong health authorities are investigating the discovery of an erectile dysfunction drug in an instant coffee mix and are urging the public not to consume the product.

The Health Ministry said tests showed Firstwell Tongkat Ali Premix Coffee contained sildenafil, an “undeclared controlled drug ingredient.”

The drug is often sold under the brand name Viagra.

“Sildenafil is a prescription drug used to treat erectile dysfunction and should only be used on medical advice and dispensed from a pharmacy under the supervision of a registered pharmacist with a prescription from a doctor,” the department said on Wednesday.

According to the packaging, Firstwell Tongkat Ali Premix Coffee is made in Malaysia.

The Post was unable to immediately reach out to the brand for comment.
