Pokémon fans are reeling as our first new Eeveelution in years leaks – news

The leak is proving worrying for some

The huge Pokémon leak from a few weeks ago continues to bring new information to light and fans can't get enough.

Normally The Pokémon Company and Nintendo are so secretive that such details almost never come to light, but now we're taking a look behind the scenes.

Pokemon-like Temptem is making a comeback with a new game in the roguelike genre

This little tidbit comes courtesy of Reddit, where a fan shared details about Eeveelutions that have never been included in any of the games.

It turns out that The Pokémon Company had been considering a flying Eevee appearing in the seventh generation of games. Pokémon Sun and Moon.

According to the leak, this Eeveelution was scrapped because the design resembled too much of a fan design.

From the details revealed, we can also see that Umbreon was originally designed as a Poison-type Pokémon.

This brings a whole new take on the Eevee chain and some fans find the future of Eevee development worrying.

“Considering how many fan designs there are for all Eeveelutions of different types, that means it's very unlikely we'll get another Eeveelution because it'll be difficult to create something that looks unique,” said blazingciary.

Another fan replied: “Yes, that might explain why we ended up choosing Sylveon, as there was never a fairy type and therefore no design that resembled Sylveon.”

This last comment raises a good point and could mean that we won't get a new Eeveelution until Game Freak introduces a new Pokemon type.

It's a shame we didn't get to see a Flying-type in the evolution tree, and it's a little shocking that Game Freak or The Pokémon Company couldn't come up with something different than the fans.

However, thousands of fans are constantly creating “Fakemon,” so it will be difficult to produce something original that hasn’t been influenced by the community.
