Two teenagers are accused of setting fire to a classroom

STANFORD, Ky. (WKYT) – Two teens were arrested after police say they set fire to a middle school classroom.

In a Facebook post, the Stanford Police Department said the couple was arrested Wednesday.

Both are accused of arson and felonious assault.

Emergency crews were initially called to Lincoln County Middle School on Tuesday because of a fire in the building.

When they arrived, they found smoke in the building and traced it to a single classroom.

The fire was contained and extinguished in this classroom.

No injuries were reported.

“We are grateful and fortunate that no injuries were sustained in this very serious incident,” the Facebook post said. “We have always held accountable, and will continue to hold, those responsible for endangering or threatening the safety and well-being of Lincoln County Schools students and staff.”
