Warm, windy before showers and thunderstorms

(KFVS) – Another windy and warm evening, tomorrow it will rain.

Winds continue to be breezy from the southwest with gusts near 30 miles per hour.

Fire hazards will continue to be a concern.

Chief Meteorologist Grant Dade says a cold front is moving toward the heartland and that it will remain warm and windy ahead of that front. Lows in the morning will be around 60°C.

By Halloween the cold front will move in and we will see isolated showers and storms. The rain will move in from the west before dawn tomorrow and move further east throughout the early afternoon.

A few strong storms are possible, the main concern being damaging winds. Our western counties are expected to have a Level 1 Severe Storm Threat.

As for trick-or-treating plans, most rain and wind conditions are over by 5 p.m. Tomorrow night should be a pretty nice evening for all the outdoor activities.

Friday and Saturday will be cooler and mostly dry as high pressure remains behind this front. Highs will be back in the 60s Friday and low 70s Saturday, and we will see mostly sunny skies.

Rain chances return across the heartland towards the second half of the weekend and will persist into next week.

Also, don't forget: Daylight Saving Time ends at 2 a.m. on Sunday.
