The Tennessee Volunteers are going dark for Saturday's home game against the Kentucky Wildcats.

First, with an epic performance, Tennessee unveiled the black uniforms it will wear under the lights during kickoff at 7:45 p.m. ET Poison Style video and images highlighting the look:

Then it was announced that the uniforms were available to play in the EA Sports College Football 25 video game:

It all got closer to Thursday when the Volunteers released a trailer for the upcoming game, accompanied by a particularly spooky version of their game Rocky top Fight song. It was certainly no coincidence that the team, which will wear black and orange, released the trailer on Halloween and titled it “spooky.”

On Saturday, the volunteers return to the field after their farewell week.

They are 6-1 and likely control their own destiny when it comes to making it to the expanded 12-team College Football Playoff. After all, they have wins over Alabama and Oklahoma on their resume and still have a chance to improve their ranking with a Nov. 16 game against Georgia.

However, Tennessee's calculus would change if it made a mistake at home against Kentucky, as the Wildcats are just 3-5 and have suffered three straight losses.

Tennessee shouldn't completely discount its next opponent considering Kentucky beat Ole Miss and lost to Georgia by just one, but it can at least take comfort in knowing that Neyland Stadium will likely be rocking on Saturday .

How could it not be with these uniforms and all this gathering?
