Drugs, stolen gun seized after Nashville duo arrested in Mt. Juliet

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Two Nashville men, one actively wanted, were arrested in Mt. Juliet after drugs and a stolen handgun were found during a traffic stop, according to Mt. Juliet Police.

Police said officers conducted a traffic stop for a window tint violation on a car traveling on Golden Bear Gateway.

Officers arrested two known criminals, one of whom was actively wanted, and recovered a stolen handgun and several illegal drugs.

“It was determined that the occupants – two males, ages 29 and 28, both from Nashville – were in possession of a stolen Glock handgun, marijuana, crack cocaine and methamphetamine,” MJPD said.

The gun was reportedly stolen from a vehicle near Buchanan Street and 9th Avenue in Nashville in May 2023.

“Further investigation revealed that the 29-year-old male was wanted on a previous charge from 2022 for failure to appear,” MJPD said. “Both individuals have been convicted of offenses in the past, including a previous robbery offense for which they were released. Both suspects were arrested and booked into the Wilson County Jail.”

“This arrest underscores the effectiveness of proactive policing efforts in Mt. Juliet and the department’s commitment to protecting the community from criminal influence outside of Nashville. We are continually grateful for the hard work our officers do every day,” MJPD said.
