BALTIMORE – Baltimore police are searching for the driver of a vehicle who ran away after hitting and killing a 16-year-old and injuring another teenager on a moped in West Baltimore Wednesday evening.

Baltimore police said the Jeep was abandoned when the driver took off on foot and was not captured.

This accident occurred in the 1200 block of McCulloh Street near Dolphin Street around 9 p.m.

“It appears as if several people are saying they were hit by vehicles,” the audio center said.

A 16-year-old boy died in hospital and a 17-year-old was taken to hospital for his injuries.

The passenger of the SUV remained at the scene with minor injuries.

A neighbor who witnessed the accident said only a single handlebar remained from the moped, which was stranded in the middle of Dolphin Street.
