The new FX show “Say Nothing” tells a story about murder and memory

LOS ANGELES – FX's new limited series Say Nothing, based on the New York Times bestselling novel by Patrick Radden Keefe, will premiere on Hulu this November with nine episodes.

The show is based on a true story and, according to the studio, tells a “gripping story of murder and memory in Northern Ireland during the Troubles.”

The film spans four decades and begins with “the shocking disappearance of Jean McConville, a single mother of ten who was kidnapped from her home in 1972 and never seen alive again.”

“Say Nothing” “explores the extremes some people go to in the name of their faith, the way a deeply divided society can suddenly tip into armed conflict, the long shadow of radical violence for all affected, and the emotional and psychological costs “a code of silence” as it follows the stories of various members of the Irish Republican Army (IRA).

The trailer begins with the IRA collecting weapons for an armed robbery. Disguised as nuns, the female IRA members succeed in the robbery. “This is just the beginning,” say the members.

“The series stars Lola Petticrew as Dolours Price and Hazel Doupe as Marian Price, young women who became powerful symbols of radical politics. Anthony Boyle plays Brendan Hughes, a charismatic but conflicted military strategist, and Josh Finan plays Gerry Adams, a leading political figure who later led peace negotiations and always denied any involvement with the IRA. Maxine Peake plays Older Dolours Price.

“Say Nothing” begins streaming on Hulu on Thursday, November 14th with nine episodes.
