US presidential election: Jennifer Lopez breaks down as she rebukes Trump and says she wants Hollywood ending for Kamala Harris

Jennifer Lopez broke her silence on the ongoing controversy over comedian Tony Hinchcliffe's calling Puerto Rico a “floating trash island” during Donald Trump's campaign rally in New York and urged Nevada voters to give Vice President Kamala Harris a “Hollywood ending.” .

Jennifer Lopez, who has voiced her support for the Democratic presidential candidate, made her campaign debut Thursday night at a rally in Las Vegas, calling it the “most important stage I've ever been on.”

The actress and singer passionately supported Kamala Harris, mobilizing thousands of supporters with her heartfelt message.

Lopez opened her remarks by addressing the controversy surrounding comments from Tony Hinchcliffe, who called Puerto Rico a “floating island of garbage.”

She said: “It wasn't just Puerto Ricans who were offended that day, it was every Latino in this country. It was humanity and anyone with decent character.”

Proudly identifying herself, she exclaimed, “I'm Puerto Rican,” before adding, “And yes, I was born here and we are Americans.” Her joke, “You can't even spell American without Rican,” sparked the crowd cheers.

As Lopez reflected on her childhood, she remembered feeling like the president cared about her and all Americans, “not just some Americans.”

Sharing her experiences in the entertainment industry, she noted, “You know, when I started in television and film, I was able to get roles where I played the maid and the loud-mouthed Latina. But I knew I had more to offer.”

“And I think a lot of people in this country feel the same way, who know they're capable of more – and we all just want the chance to prove it.”

Lopez emphasized the importance of elections, stating, “Elections are about choosing leaders who will support them – not someone who will stand in their way.”

She outlined some of the policies Harris supports, including expanding the child tax credit and a tax cut for the middle class, adding: “It's about helping you get ahead. It's about you and you and you and you and you. It’s about us.” All of us, no matter what we look like, who we love or who we worship or where we come from.

As the audience responded to her criticism of Trump, she continued: “Your opponent, on the other hand, doesn’t see it that way. He has consistently worked to divide us.”

Referring to Trump's rally in New York, she said, “At Madison Square Garden he reminded us of who he is and how he really feels,” prompting a woman in the crowd to shout “an idiot!”

“I am a lover. You know this about me, I'm a lover. I'm not a fighter. I am not here to destroy or bring anyone down,” she said, reiterating her message of unity.

“I know how that can feel. I wouldn't do that to my worst enemy. Nor the greatest enemy that, in my opinion, America has ever had.”

The crowd cheered as Lopez rebuked Donald Trump and made an emotional appeal to voters to vote for Kamala Harris in the Nov. 5 presidential election.

Lopez concluded her speech by proudly stating, “I am a mother, I am a sister, I am an actress and an entertainer. And I like Hollywood endings. And I like it when the good guy, in this case the good girl, wins.”

She reaffirmed her commitment, saying, “With an understanding of our past and a belief in our future, I will cast my vote for Kamala Harris for President of the United States.”

While Tony Hinchcliffe's remark sparked much chatter, US President Joe Biden apparently made headlines by calling Trump's supporters “trash”.

While Biden later clarified that he was referring to Tony Hinchcliffe, the gaffe was enough for Donald Trump to turn the tables. The former president's recent remark about the garbage truck reprimanded the US president for his remark and caused a stir on the Internet.

Trump was seen answering questions while sitting in the cab of a garbage truck. “In honor of Kamala and Biden,” he said.
