Bloodhound's Hilarious Bedtime Dance Goes Viral: 'Dramatic Flip'

An Arkansas dog owner shared a video of his bloodhound's unusual bedtime routine, and internet users still can't understand the reason behind this behavior.

In a viral TikTok video shared by @sadiethebloodhound in September, pup Sadie can be seen drawing circles on the bed, twisting and rolling as she tries to find the best position to sleep in for the night .

“How she gets comfortable in bed,” reads the caption of the hilarious video. Netizens were a bit confused by the pup's unconventional way of finding the perfect position and had difficulty understanding the process. Newsweek I emailed @sadiethebloodhound for comment. We were unable to verify the details of the case.

If you own a dog, you've probably seen them in very different sleeping positions, some of which seem more comfortable than others. But what is the meaning behind the individual sleeping positions?

In an article from Journeys Mobile Veterinary Services, Dr. Candy Akers that a dog's sleeping style can offer fascinating insights into his emotions, health and personality, and help us ensure he feels comfortable and healthy.

When a dog sleeps with his stomach raised, it probably means he feels safe and secure enough to show off his precious belly. On the other hand, if they are curled up in a ball, they may be trying to protect their vulnerable areas.

The amount of sleep hours a dog needs each day depends on factors such as age, breed, size and activity level. However, on average, adult dogs need around 12 to 14 hours of sleep, while puppies and older dogs can sleep up to 18 to 20 hours.

If you're wondering whether dogs can dream, the answer is yes. British animal charity Blue Cross says that while we don't know exactly what goes on in their dreams, studies suggest it probably has to do with what they did during the day.

Signs that your puppy is in REM sleep include paw twitching, altered breathing, eye flickering, whining, barking, body twitching, and tail swinging.

The video quickly went viral on social media and has received nearly 3 million views and more than 116,000 likes on the platform so far.

One user, Cinder, wrote: “She looked exhausted after her dramatic performance!!! The flip!!”

Just a little Bawn added, “Mine has to squeeze into everything, I call them the smushies.”
