“Mariah Carey says 'It's time' in opening Christmas video.”

Finally! Mariah Carey arrived on time on Friday morning (November 1st) and rang in the holiday season with her annual Christmas kickoff video. With her highly anticipated “It's Time” video, the Christmas queen officially announced that the countdown to the most wonderful time of the year has begun.

This year, her Instagram post included a video of Carey, 55, dressed as Morticia Addams from the Addams family. The clip begins on a dark and spooky night with a full moon, howling wolves and steady rain falling on a haunted house. Cut to Carey, in a sparkly black dress, black wig and dark makeup, taking the hand of a dancer dressed as Gomez Addams as she performs the couple's signature frightening tango.

But after a few twists and dips, Mariah gives Gomez a hard shove out of frame, throws a dagger in his face – which narrowly misses her smiling lover – and then shoots a knowing look right through the lens, using her wits to make a curious one Person opening cupboard as the last calendar leaves of October fly away.

You know what was inside: Mariah's red and white Christmas sweater, of course. “IT'S TIME!!!!” Mariah wails in her signature whistle from the seat of a sleigh filled with presents as the scene fills with fake snow, Gomez transforms into a snowman and, of course, MC's legendary holiday classic “All I Want For Christmas Is.” “You” sounds.

The video ends with Carey smiling broadly as she and her reindeer prepare to head off in their sleigh. Carey had been announcing the start of the holiday season for weeks, including releasing a “Christmas Time Set List” on Apple Music, unpacking the cover art for four new physical singles of “All I Want For Christmas,” and, as always, posting a “Not.” Not Yet” video to make sure no one gets ahead of themselves on their favorite vacation.

Now that the remains need to be packed away for another year, it's time to crank up “All I Want” as Carey celebrates her 30th anniversary Merry Christmas album on the Merry Christmas Time Tour, scheduled to begin November 6th in Highland, California. Last year, “All I Want” once again topped the Billboard Hot 100, marking the fifth consecutive year the holiday classic has topped the chart since its debut in 2017.
