A fatal crash closes all southbound lanes on US 75 in Richardson

A fatal crash in Richardson shut down the southbound lanes of U.S. 75, the North Central Expressway, near the President George Bush Turnpike Friday morning.

Around 2:40 a.m., Richardson police said in a social media post that officers were investigating a fatal crash in the 3400 block of the expressway and that all southbound lanes from Plano Parkway would be closed.

Police said around 4:25 a.m. that the closure was expected to last until early morning rush hour. No additional information was available.

Plano police said officers assisted at the accident, which occurred in Richardson.

As of 8 a.m., Texas Department of Public Safety online traffic cameras were still recording the crash.
