Suspects Arrested Due to Disclosure of PMO Documents, Office Says No One Arrested – Benjamin Netanyahu

Several suspects were arrested on Friday in connection with the leak of secret documents from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), the Rishon Lezion District Court said in a statement.

The announced arrests were the result of a joint investigation by the Shin Bet, the police and the IDF on suspicion of compromising sensitive information and interfering with the achievement of the war goals in Gaza, Judge Menachem Mizrahi noted in the statement.

The prime minister's office briefly rejected the court's statement, saying: “Contrary to publications, no one from the office was investigated or arrested.”

Political reactions

The National Unity Party responded to the PMO's initial statement by claiming that it had not leaked secret documents during the war. Party leader Benny Gantz said their “level of credibility: 'This year 3,000 ultra-Orthodox were recruited.'”

Gantz responded to the incident on the office. For better or worse.

Opposition leader Yair Lapid also responded to the incident on X and also placed the blame for the leak entirely on the prime minister.

“The Prime Minister is already trying, as usual, to distance himself from the matter and shift responsibility to others, but the facts say the opposite: he is personally responsible for every paper, every word and every piece of information that comes out of his office.”
