Aaron Rodgers takes a photo with the newly discovered “fountain of youth” elixir after the Jets win

Aaron Rodgers is quirky.

Unless you've been living under a rock for the past few years, this is a well-known fact about the New York Jets quarterback. Rodgers, who has battled ankle, knee and hamstring injuries this season, recently revealed an unusual recovery method that has become part of his routine.

Drink cayenne pepper and water.

The 40-year-old quarterback told reporters earlier this week that he started drinking the drink after it was recommended to him by Jets punter Thomas Morstead. Rodgers' newfound routine, which he dubbed his “fountain of youth,” sparked fascination, frustration and amusement among fans and pundits alike.

Even former five-time All-Pro defensive back JJ Watt was visibly upset with Rodgers during his own weekly appearance with Rodgers The Pat McAfee Show.

But the Jets came out of a slow start and won 21-13, powered by three Rodgers touchdown passes, a highlight-reel touchdown catch from wide receiver Garrett Wilson and a strong performance from the defense.

And after the game, Rodgers posed for a photo with Morstead, who was holding a bottle labeled “Morstead's Secret Stuff” in the Jets' locker room, suggesting that the duo appeared to be performing the ritual even more intensely.

“Do you think this is a game?” Morstead wrote in the post on his X (formerly Twitter) account.

Morstead, 38, is in his 16th NFL season and has only missed four games in his career, so perhaps there is something to the contrivance. Hell, even Watt gave credit where it was due.

The Jets found the right ingredients on offense on Thursday night and will now take an extended break before facing the Arizona Cardinals in Week 10.
