Garrett Wilson responds to OBJ comparisons with acrobatic TNF catch

One of Garrett Wilson's two touchdown grabs on Thursday night is the best candidate for catch of the year so far.

Take a look and see if it reminds you of another catch we've seen in recent history:

A young New York receiver attempting a one-handed touchdown grab near the edge of the field and losing his balance… Very Odell Beckham Jr.-esque, right?

Reporters asked Wilson after the game what he thought of the comparison. He responded really modestly:

“It was different with Odell. And he slid down two feet,” Wilson said. “The ball would end up out of bounds. And it was Odell, man. Odell vs. the Cowboys… Great to even show up in this convo.”

A reporter joined the crowd and gave a little more context: “But Garrett, he lost the game.”

“You know what? Aight!” Wilson said, seeming to appreciate the feeling that his catch was more meaningful. Funnily enough, Wilson admitted after the game that he wasn't even sure the catch would stand after the play was reviewed (as is the case with all scoring plays).

While one could argue which catch was better, the reporter is right – situationally speaking, Wilson's grab was more telling. The Jets were ahead of the Houston Texans 14:10. Beckham's touchdown gave the Giants an 11-point lead after the extra point that they somehow couldn't hold on to, losing 31-28 that night and falling to 3-8 on the season.

This could be the next big sports debate with no clear and correct answer: Wilson or Beckham?
