Stoughton esthetician accused of administering fake Botox

A Stoughton-based beautician was arrested Friday afternoon after being accused of importing fake Botox and fillers from overseas.

Rebecca Fadanell, 38, is accused of giving the unregulated product to thousands of customers without a license.

Fadanelli is the owner of Skin Beaute Med Spa, which has two locations in southern Massachusetts.

One in Easton, the other in Randolph.

In a criminal complaint filed in court, she was accused of smuggling, selling and distributing the counterfeit 2021 product.

She faces decades in prison and hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines.

That responsibility is long overdue, some licensed practitioners said.

“I knew about her apartment and saw some clients who had been to Rebecca and came back with problems,” said Diego Demelo of Luxderm med spa.

The illegal administration of Botox is not uncommon.

Other licensed nurses in the area told NBC 10 they hope this is just the beginning of exposing local misconduct throughout the industry.

“This had to happen,” added Georgiana Frias of Rio Medical. “We're also hoping that some of them will be afraid, now that they know there's some surveillance, and some of them will be afraid and stop.”

If you or a family member believe that you received services related to a counterfeit drug or device from Fadanelli and/or Skin Beaute Med Spa between 2021 and today, please complete the questionnaire on the FDA website:
