Rock legends anger 90-year-old Frankie Valli over lip-syncing controversy. “A beefy performance.”

xMore artists are weighing in on the Frankie Valli lip sync controversy, including the 90-year-old singer himself. The “Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons: The Last Encores” tour has caused some concern, with viral videos showing as the New Jersey legend barely moves his lips as the music from the latest tour ends.

The singer offered some defense in an interview with The Washington Post.

“I’ve had no problem, no audience problem, my whole life,” Valli said. “And if I can’t take a note, I won’t sing it.”

Valli's wife Jackie, 62, also defended him, noting that the audience pays for an entire experience.

“Frankie wants to give everything to the audience, to his fans, who he loves so much. He wants to give them a show they love,” she said.

Some musicians are not convinced by this idea. Graham Nash, 82, who continues to perform live to this day, did not praise Valli's live performances.

“Frankie Valli doesn’t sing,” Nash told the Post. “He just lip-syncs badly to a tape. As a musician, if you don’t sing, you shouldn’t be on stage.”

Heart's 74-year-old Ann Wilson also shared her thoughts after watching a live performance video of Valli provided by the Post.

“Oh my God. His face is completely still. He looks like he's not even there. I guess he's not,” Wilson said.

“I think this is the moment when you have to decide whether to leave the stage or not. You really have to pay attention to your morals and ask yourself, 'Do I just want to go up there and criticize everything, give a full-throttle performance because I'm me, or should I take the right path?'”

The Last Encores Tour continues November 8th at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio, California.
